A different sort of field trip

This week is Precision Planting's Winter Conference. The boys mentioned to Chad that they wanted to go so Chad asked his dad if he was available. Dad and Mom both wanted to go, so they braved the snow and headed this way; knowing this Chad took the three older boys with him to work. On the way Dad decided the roads were to slippery so they went back home but the boys were already with Chad so he got them in a group and they sat through the entire conference. Chad couldn't be with them because he is working on a project that is time sensitive.

Jesse and Javan enjoyed the entire day and said they weren't bored at all. I haven't heard Jared's perspective yet, he and Chad went out to plow the lane before it gets too dark. I'm sure all the junk food sitting around and the steak lunch kept him pretty happy!

The conference is geared to educate the farmers, so the boys got a bit of educatin' today too.

Here on the home front we decided to have a day off school and had a bit of fun ourselves. We did a bit of cleaning up this AM and then we made bread and each of the girls made individual pizza's with some of the dough. We read a little and played a couple games together.

All in all ~ it was a good day. :)

we (one of my boys and me) were there, too. Your boys did great! I asked them if their mom was here, too --- but didn't really understand their answer. Now you need to quiz them to see what they learned.....:-). And the last 2 questions could be 'how many doughnuts did you have? And how many sodas did you have?' :-)

Linda, they were talking about how they were going to put videos of the conference online and one of the boys clearly made it known that he would rather be there in person! I rightly guessed that it was because of all the junk food! Chad said they averaged three cans of pop a piece and plenty of candy ~ I don't know how many doughnuts!

I know they enjoyed the conference and being around all the people too, but you just can't beat all that sugar!
