July 1st ~ My dear husband caught up with me and turned the big 4-0.
We took a day trip to Mike and Ivy Steiners near Burlington, IA. We went to church with them and then enjoyed an evening of fellowship ending in a late night drive home.
As usual, I was too busy talking to take many pictures. This one was the first as I was playing with lighting, but I didn’t take enough once I got the right settings for lighting so it is what it is. L-R Chad, Mahlon, Mike, Hannah, and Ivy.
Chad, Mahlon, and Mike (Joseph is behind Mike)
Timothy and Blessing
I put Jeremiah under the a/c for his nap hoping the noise would help keep him asleep.
Ivy is due (probably overdue by now) to deliver a baby anytime. We are looking forward to hearing the Good News! This baby will join Mahlon, Joseph, Daniel, Hannah, Titus, Courage, Blessing, Providence, and Timothy.
While the adults were visiting inside some of the children were out on the horses – bare back! The horse Jesse was on took off at a pretty good pace and he slipped off landing on his wrist. At first we were hopeful that is was a bad bruise or sprain, but Tuesday afternoon we decided to take him to the ER in Hopedale to have it x rayed. The doctor said there were no breaks so they wrapped it and said it would be fine. BUT, the next day someone from the hospital called and said the x ray showed a break so we should see our family doctor. We weren’t able to go till Monday but they said if we kept it wrapped it would be fine. The doctor examined him and said he wasn’t going to cast him, just keep it wrapped for a few more weeks to help him remember not to use it. We went back at the end of the week for repeat x rays to make sure it was healing properly. It was. He has his wrap off now but is still not lifting heavy objects with it and is being careful in general.
