Dinosaur Valley State Park

Tuesday we spent the day at the hotel till about 3PM or so when Chad returned and we drove an hour to Dinosaur Valley State Park. There we saw, preserved in shallow water along the Paluxy River, some real Dinosaur Tracks (at least it appears that way). One of the boards we read said that some people claim that there are human footprints preserved right along with some Dinosaur tracks, some they say are just smudged dinosaur tracks that people try to say are human and others are deliberate fakes. We didn't see any, but you know what we believe!

This is the only still shot of a dinosaur track I got, the rest is on video (if it turned out). There was a place that had quite a few really big tracks, you could imagine the steps it took across that area. I can't explain the science behind why they are preserved, but it was interesting to learn about.

It was very interesting, but the best part for the children was the shallow area with rocks to walk across the river.

Of course they would try to jump between rocks that were a little farther than a step, sometimes they would make it, sometimes they wouldn't. :) The older children all had wet shoes, but managed to keep their clothes pretty dry.
