Plattner Current Events

I don't have any pictures ready to post at the moment, but I am sitting here nursing so I thought it would be a good time to keep you up to date with the current events here at the Plattner Ranch.

This week has been a busy one. Monday night we ran errands although we had to go our separate ways. Chad needed to go to Pekin and I needed to go to Peoria. Jubilee opted to go with me and very quickly commenced asking where daddy was, she thought he was driving the other van but going with us. We so rarely go anywhere without the whole family and it appears she likes it that way. On the way home she was still saying "I want daddy," I asked her if she wished she had gone with daddy and not me but she said "no" so I asked if she preferred to go with me and again she said "no" I said "do you like it when we go together? She responded with a "Yes!"

Tuesday afternoon our landscapers arrived and started their work, it is a lot more work than I ever imagined. Removing the sod and grading the ground so the water run off is in the right direction. They were here a good part of the day again and they are still just working on the dirt. They plan to put the pretty stuff in on Friday! :) :) I will try to get pictures blogged sometime.

Last night we took about 18 buckets of apples and pears to our friends house and pressed them into cider. Today, I used 5 1/2 gallons of cider and some applesauce to make apple butter. The smaller batch turned out great, the other batch is not thick enough yet.

Hopefully the rest of this week will calm down. Saturday I will be going to a wedding shower in Bloomington for Chad's cousins fiance and Sunday to Dad and Mom P's for a wiener roast for Drew, their foster grandson. Drew is living with new foster parents, but they have agreed to allow Mom and Dad to remain his grandpa and grandma so they will still have interaction with him.

With Kyle living away from home at Eureka College and Drew gone, Mom said it isn't fun to cook anymore when she is only cooking for 2. I told her she could have fun cooking for us whenever she wanted!!! ;)

Time for bed ~ Sleep tight

Do you mix the pear and apples or is there really a pear cider? If so, it sounds yummy!

I'm impressed! You've got actual landscapers. When we call in our landscapers, it's just boring ole us doing the work. :/
